How I Work
One thing I like to make clear to people is that you don’t need to worry about how things are ‘usually’ done. With a celebrant service, tried and tested formats for weddings, funerals, in fact, any service become a little irrelevant. The joy of a celebrant service is that it’s all about what you want, what you want to happen so that your event is a true reflection of the people involved. So forget tradition and think creatively!
And that’s my job, supporting you in creating the event that everyone will remember. Before we start writing the script for your event, we’ll talk about your ideal, how your event will feel. What do you want your ‘guests’ to come away with? What are you trying to get across? It’s an enjoyable process and one I’ll guide you through. Once we have identified that, I will support you in making it happen.
Many people take comfort from a traditional approach and I understand and respect that. There are also elements of a traditional service that you will probably want to incorporate. I can help you take the approach that is right for you and possibly add a little something that you feel is appropriate. I recently worked with a family on a funeral that took a traditional format. However, instead of everyone singing a hymn or song they chose to show a slide show of images of their loved one whilst playing a favourite song of hers. It gave a personal touch, provoked memories for those attending and allowed everyone to see images from a life well lived. Not a dramatic deviation from a traditional funeral but one that made the service very personal to her.
Take a look at the kind of service you are looking for under the different headings. I outline what I charge and my approach as well as additional services to create a bespoke service for you and your loved one's. Also, feel free to contact me with any questions or just an initial chat.
